What is a tube end forming machine?

A tube end forming machine works the end of a tube or pipe so it seats and welds clean. The everyday jobs are notching to the radius you need, deburring after sawing or notching, and weld prep. What you get is a burr-free, on-size pipe end, the kind fab shops, machine shops and the automotive and supplier industry count on.

Tube end forming processes

A clean pipe end comes down to three steps, and KNUTH covers each with the right machine:

• Notching: the tube end is cut to the radius you need so two tubes meet tight. KNUTH carries dedicated tube notchers in a manual and a motorized version.
• Deburring: after sawing or notching, burrs and sharp edges come off the end. Safer to handle, and the base for a clean weld.
• Weld prep: the end is finished so it welds tight and sound.
