The Portalo C CNC series is designed for precision machining of large and heavy workpieces. It combines a spacious work area with a stable fixed gantry design and practical CNC equipment.
The series is aimed at users in machine building, toolmaking, mould making and manufacturing companies where large-format components need to be machined precisely and cost-effectively.
Stable fixed gantry design for heavy workpieces
The machines of the Portalo C CNC series feature a fixed gantry and a movable table. This design allows heavy workpieces to be machined reliably and ensures high stability during demanding milling operations.
The large machining area and long travel distances are designed for applications where workpiece size, workpiece weight and machining quality are equally important. A combination of linear guides and box ways ensures stable motion, long service life and reliable machining results — both in heavy-duty machining and when producing complex shapes and contours.
Productive machining with 24-station tool changer
For efficient day-to-day production, the Portalo C CNC series is equipped with a robust 24-station tool changer with dual-arm gripper. This keeps various tools available at all times, reduces non-productive time and allows changing machining tasks to be handled flexibly.
Especially for workpieces with multiple machining steps, the automatic tool changer supports short set-up and changeover times and contributes to cost-effective production.
Modern Siemens control for efficient manufacturing
The Siemens 828D control system provides intuitive, easy-to-learn programming features for practical day-to-day operation. With Siemens ShopMill software, even complex contours and demanding workpieces can be produced efficiently.
High-quality preloaded ball screws and proven Siemens servo motors provide dynamic feed and precise movement on all axes. This makes the machine well suited for reliable machining in everyday production
Increased process reliability through measuring systems
The standard Renishaw measuring systems for tool and workpiece support precise machine set-up and increase process reliability. They help reduce manual input errors, shorten set-up times and ensure consistently high machining quality.
A powerful coolant system, the included chip conveyor and automatic central lubrication support reliable processes in daily operation.
