With the new X.mill series, KNUTH introduces a new generation of vertical machining centres. The X.mill 600, 800 and 1100 models stand for cost-effective CNC production, high availability and easy operation in day-to-day manufacturing.
With the introduction of the new X.mill series, KNUTH is restructuring its portfolio of vertical machining centres. The X.mill 600, 800 and 1100 models replace the previous X.mill T series and will form the new cost-effective entry-level line, while the Vector series continues to cover the premium segment.
This gives users clearer guidance when selecting the right machining centre — from flexible all-round machines to high-performance solutions.
The new X.mill is designed for companies in machine building, toolmaking, training and workshops with changing production tasks, where machines need to deliver reliable performance day after day.
The robust machine construction is based on high-quality, fully enclosed linear guides and precision ball screws. This ensures lasting accuracy and reliability, even in demanding machining operations. At the same time, the clearly laid-out workspace and optimised accessibility help reduce set-up times and make operation more comfortable.
Large front doors and side maintenance access ensure easy access to the workspace and make set-up, servicing and cleaning work easier.
The X.mill series comes standard with a 24-position tool changer with double-arm gripper. Fast tool transfer reduces non-productive time and increases productivity. Users benefit from shorter chip-to-chip times and more efficient production processes, especially in machining operations with frequent tool changes.
The tool magazine provides sufficient capacity for complex machining tasks and reduces set-up work in day-to-day production.
The new X.mill was developed for continuous production use. The standard chain-type chip conveyor automatically removes large chip volumes and ensures a clean working area. This reduces cleaning effort, increases process reliability and supports uninterrupted production.
The chain-type chip conveyor reduces cleaning effort, supports a continuous material flow and keeps the working area clean, even when large chip volumes are produced.
The Siemens SINUMERIK 828D combines high computing power with intuitive operation. Users benefit from short set-up times, clear operator guidance and a powerful platform for demanding milling applications.
The new series offers the right machine size for a wide range of production requirements, with X-axis travel of 600, 800 or 1100 mm. All models are based on the same product philosophy and combine productivity, ease of operation and cost efficiency in day-to-day production.
Different travel ranges allow users to select the machine that best fits their requirements — from flexible all-round solutions to machining centres for larger workpieces. This ensures the right machine size for each production task, without compromising on proven equipment features and operating concepts.
“Many users today are not looking for a highly specialised solution, but for a machine that produces reliably every day. That is exactly why we developed the new X.mill — as a modern machining centre for real day-to-day production.”
