• Heavy-duty lathes: A rigid bed for large, heavy workpieces, with swing over bed up to 1,600 mm and workpiece lengths up to 8,000 mm between centres. A common choice for mine maintenance, rolling stock and heavy engineering, where shafts, rolls and pins are turned and reconditioned.
• CNC slant-bed lathes: The inclined bed improves chip evacuation and access to the work area. With CNC control, high repeatability and short cycle times, they are the standard for precision parts in series, for example in automotive, agricultural equipment and general engineering.
• Vertical lathes: The vertical spindle makes it easier to mount large, heavy or unwieldy workpieces such as flanges, rings, slew gears and large pulleys that are difficult to position horizontally. On KNUTH conventional vertical lathes, turning diameters reach up to 2,600 mm.
